Prairie dropseed is an Ornamental grass in the Poaceae native to north America that grows from 2-3 feet. This perennial grass typically grow in prairies, glades, open ground, and along railroads. This plant is a great ground cover that works well in a rain garden. Fine textured, medium green leaves typically form a foliage that turns a golden, orange hue in the Fall and turns into a light brown in the Winter. This plant thrives in full sun with dry to medium water. It also attracts birds and tolerates deer, drought and erosion.
