Eupatorium coelestinum (Conoclinium coelestinum) is an herbaceous native perennial, most commonly known as Blue mistflower, that is useful in wildflower gardens, naturalized area, or on the perimeter of a stream or pond.
It grows to 1-2’ tall on downy purplish stems with blue-purple flowers blooming from July to October. Low but vigorous, masses of azure flowers in fall. Broadleaf, leaves disappear in winter. Blue mistflower does best in full sun to partial shade and in moist ground along streams, ponds, sloughs and ditches.
